OJO
OJO is collaboration between Spanish artist Younes Bachir and Strings Attached inspired by the direction that humanity is taking in relation to the environment.
Together over 3-weeks they worked with emerging artist to create large-scale physical theatre show that transformed the intricate walls of the Turbine Hall into a vertical stage, inspiring awe in the viewer and guiding the spectators to reflect upon the mystery of our human nature. The thematic interest is based on natural disasters and its consequences in contemporary times. To show the logical contradiction between Man and Nature as the last ring of a chain which has its origin on the sick side of human unconscious. The medium in which the investigation will take place is somewhere in between the dream fantasy and the visceral, industrial elements will support the temporal connotation in which the representation happens so spectators will enter into the perspective we want, thanks to the extraordinary evocative capacity of this objects. Human potential, energy and bodies, accompanied by audiovisuals, will be the different windows upon a teared world by a natural disaster, in which ritual is still the only way to survive. |
